Mexico coach Sven-Goran Eriksson handed a debut call-up to midfielder Lucas Ayala when he named his 23-man squad for a friendly against Sweden later this month.

Eriksson plans to hold a three-day training camp next week before the friendly international in Oakland, United States on January 28.

Mexico's manager Guillermo Cantu said: "There is still a final list to give but it is likely that many of these players will face Sweden and will also be the base ahead of the World Cup qualifiers."
