Lyon striker Fred will not be joining Brazilian side Fluminense in the summer, according to his agent.
Fluminense president Roberto Horcades claimed earlier today that the 25-year-old had reached an agreement with the club's football manager Alexandre Faria to move to the Sao Paulo-based outfit when his contract at Lyon expires.
"Fluminense sent a letter to Lyon expressing our interest in him after the player finishes his contract there," said Horcades. "Before that it is not possible as the cancellation of his contract would cost five million euros.
"Alexandre (Faria) and Fred have already sealed the agreement in Natal."
However, Fred's brother and agent Rodrigo Chaves has denied there is an agreement with Fluminense.
"Until now no Fluminense board member has talked with me," said Rodrigo in a press release.
"Football manager Alexandre Faria has a good relationship with Fred and they have talked on several occasions.
"However, I am the one who is in charge of deciding his future. As far as I know, everything is speculation."
