AC Milan have confirmed they have signed Brazilian defender Felipe Mattioni on loan from Gremio.
Mattioni has been a target of several Italian clubs but the Rossoneri have beaten Juventus to acquire the 20-year-old full-back.
Milan were desperate to strengthen their defensive line with Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze sidelined with injury.
"AC Milan has acquired Felipe Mattioni on loan with an option to buy the player,'' read a statement on the club's official website.
The South American holds Italian citizenship and will be available to play for Carlo Ancelotti's side immediately.
"This is a dream come true for me,'' said Mattioni. "I am delighted to play in a team of champions.
"I am ready to play but it will be the coach who has the final say.''
