CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy acquired midfielder Mike Magee from the New York Red Bulls for a second-round pick in Thursday's MLS SuperDraft.
"Mike is a very good attacking player and can play in a number of positions," Galaxy general manager-coach Bruce Arena said Wednesday in a statement. "At 24 years old, Mike brings us some proven quality and experience. I believe he will be a great asset to our team."
Magee is a six-year MLS veteran who originally joined the Red Bulls at age 18 in 2003. He has 23 goals and 13 assists in 130 games during his career including five goals and one assist in 26 games last season. He was originally the fourth overall pick in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft.
