Fan injured by hatchet ahead of PSG clash
An FC Twente fan was attacked with a hatchet in clashes with Paris St Germain supporters ahead of a UEFA Cup game at the Parc des Princes in the French capital, police said on Thursday.
Paris police said the fan had been taken to hospital but his life was not in danger. Around 1,500 Dutch supporters were expected in Paris for the match.
Earlier on Thursday, French police reported clashes in the centre of Paris between fans from both sides. These were described by authorities as "small fights" involving around 200 fans from each side.
Extra security measures were taken by PSG around their stadium.
