Borhello sends Goody Cruz to Estudiantes win

An Ivan Borghello brace helped Godoy Cruz battle back from a goal behind to defeat Estudiantes 2-1 and climb out of the relegation zone of the Apertura standings.

Young Ramon Lentini headed home a Juan Manuel Diaz cross to put the visitors ahead but at the beginning of the second half Ivan Borghello equalised.

Godoy Cruz' Leandro Caruso then saw the red card for a strong foul over Rodrigo Brana and hoping to make the most of an extra player, Estudiantes went for the victory, needing the three points to assure their place in next year's Copa Libertadores.

But the hosts took advantage of this and Borghello made it 2-1 in injury time.

"We needed the points because next year we will have hard work if we want to avoid relegation," said Godoy Cruz midfielder Hernan Encina. "Last week we defeated River and now Estudiantes."

With the three points Godoy Cruz are out of the relegation zone while Estudiantes have to wait until Sunday's last round to know if they will play in the Copa Libertadores.
