U.S. U-20 women beat England to reach semis

The U.S. U-20 women's national team booked its path to the semifinals of the U-20 Women's World Cup by beating England 3-0 Sunday in Chillan, Chile.

After a scoreless first half, the U.S. broke the deadlock in the 54th minute when Keelin Winters converted a cross by substitute Christine Nairn. Forward Sydney Leroux scored two late goals to secure the game for the U.S.

U.S. goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher picked up her eighth shutout of the year and her second of the tournament.

In the semis, the U.S. will face Germany on Dec. 1.
