Andrei Arshavin's agent claims Real Madrid are currently in "pole position" in the race to sign the Zenit St Petersburg star, as he continues to look for a transfer abroad.
Arshavin was on the verge of a move to Tottenham following Euro 2008, but the move broke down when Zenit raised the asking price of the player to a reported 27 million euros.
However, it is more than likely that the Russia forward will snag a dream move in the winter transfer window, and his agent claim the Bernabeu is the most likely destination.
"For the moment my player is being followed in England, Italy and Spain," Dennis Lachter said. "Of course all this isn't new.
"But I have to tell you that we have had not concrete offers.
"Real Madrid are in pole position, but apart from that, we have not entered into any negotiations."
Arshavin was reluctant to comment on speculation linking him with Madrid last week, but the 27-year-old admitted he holds the two-time reigning Primera Liga champions in high regard.
