Stevens confident of PSV recovery

PSV Eindhoven coach Huub Stevens remains confident his team can turn around their indifferent Eredivisie campaign.

A 1-0 loss to NEC Nijmegen last weekend marked their fourth defeat of the season and left the defending champions fifth in the standings - four points behind the leading trio of AZ Alkmaar, Ajax and NAC Breda.

Stevens called his squad together after the NEC match to discuss what went wrong, and reckons his players have taken on board everything that was said.

"I have noticed we are on the same frequency," Stevens told De Telegraaf.

"I spoke to them in a somewhat different manner than I usually would and that worked in my eyes. The players reacted more than earlier this season. That's good."

Stevens now wants to see his team react on the pitch in a bid to get their title defence on track.

"I've previously had a good feeling after talks with the squad too, but it all is about what they show on the field," he said.

"A good result can change everything. I only have to point to AZ for that. After they beat us this season they hit some form and they are still in it."
