McGinn gains first senior N.Ireland call-up

Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington has named Derry City midfielder Niall McGinn in his squad for the first time.

McGinn, 21, has been called up for the friendly against Hungary at Windsor Park on November 19 after scoring nine goals for the club following his arrival from Dungannon Swifts in January.

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans returns to the squad after missing the victory against San Marino through suspension.

Michael Duff, Chris Brunt and Sammy Clingan have recovered from injury and are also back in Worthington's thoughts.

However Motherwell centre-back Stephen Craigan remains absent as he is still struggling with the groin complaint which has forced him to miss the last two internationals.

Northern Ireland squad to face Hungary in a friendly at Windsor Park, Belfast on November 19:

Taylor (Birmingham), Mannus (Linfield), Tuffey (Partick); Baird (Fulham), McAuley (Ipswich), Evans (Manchester United), McCartney (Sunderland), Hughes (Fulham), Duff (Burnley), McGivern (Manchester City - on loan at Morecambe); Davis (Rangers), O'Connor (Crewe), Shiels (Hibernian), Gillespie (Sheffield United), McCann (Scunthorpe), Brunt (West Brom), McGinn (Derry), Clingan (Norwich); Healy (Sunderland), Feeney (Cardiff - on loan at Dundee United), Lafferty (Rangers), Thompson (Stockport), Paterson (Burnley).
