O'Reilly sparks U.S. women past South Korea
The U.S. women's national team resumed its "Achieve Your Gold Tour" Saturday against South Korea in style with a 3-1 win. Angela Hucles and Heather O'Reilly paced the U.S. women to a 2-0 first-half lead.
The second half saw Lindsey Tarpley extend the U.S. lead before Hang Song Il pulled back a consolation goal for South Korea. With the win, the U.S. improved its record to 30-1-1 in 2008.
The game was the fourth in a series of exhibition games for the U.S. women to celebrate the Olympic gold medal. The U.S. won the first three games of the tour over Ireland, recording three consecutive shutouts in September.
