'Liverpool in hunt for Brazilian striking starlet'

Liverpool are set to land a teen Brazilian hotshot in the January transfer window, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.

Nineteen-year-old Keirrison has racked up a stunning 54 goals in 100 appearances for Coritiba since signing for the Brazilian Série A side in 2007, and has previously been linked with a move to La Liga with either Barcelona or Valencia.

But Liverpool have been given first option on Keirrison, whose contract with Coritiba expires in April 2009, according to the Mirror. And the youngster, dubbed "the new Romario" by Spanish sports daily Marca, may be tempted to link up with his compatriots Lucas, Aurelio and Diego Cavalieri at the Anfield club.
