Moratti endorses Mourinho discipline

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has backed coach Jose Mourinho's approach to discipline after he left strikers Adriano and Julio Cruz out of Wednesday's game with Fiorentina.

Mourinho dropped the South American pair for the goalless draw after they both failed to follow instructions during last weekend's stalemate against Genoa.

"Is Mourinho excessively harsh? I don't believe so," said Moratti. "His actions are based on his wish to maintain discipline."

Moratti denied suggestions that he favours some players over others.

"I have a good relationship with all of my players and I like every one of them," he said. "I have no preference.

"The coach uses the same methods with all of his players and when he needs to change the approach it is because he has a reason for doing so."

Mourinho has not revealed whether Cruz and Adriano will travel to the Oreste Granillo stadium to play against Reggina on Saturday.
