Berlin play down Pantelic row

Hertha Berlin general manager Dieter Hoeness insists dressing room morale remains "intact" despite criticism from striker Marko Pantelic.

The Serbian accused the club of mistreating him in an interview, but went on to open the scoring in a 3-0 victory over Hannover on Wednesday night.

According to Hoeness, Pantelic's comments have caused no disturbance to the rest of the team and the fact he scored again - his seventh goal in all competitions this season - shows the situation at the club remains harmonious.

"The last few games show that the team is intact," said Hoeness after his side's sixth consecutive game unbeaten.

"The morale is fine. It was a game in which we had to be patient and in the end, we showed some fine counter-attacking football."

Berlin moved up to fifth in the table and coach Lucien Favre, another target of Pantelic's frustration, admitted it would be hard for him not to pick the Serbian.

Pantelic hit out out Favre and Hoeness when he was dropped for unintentionally missing training, saying he was "sick" of the way he was being treated.

But Favre said: "For me, all that counts is what happens on the field, I have not even read the newspaper so I cannot comment on the interview.

"If he plays well and scores goals for us, then he will always play."
