Spalletti has no intention of quitting Roma

Luciano Spalletti has maintained he has no intention of stepping down as Roma coach despite his team's dismal start to the campaign.

Spalletti is under fire with the Eternal City giants having won just two of eight games in Serie A this season.

Moreover, the Giallorossi have lost twice in the Champions League so far and won only once.

"I have never considered leaving because I love my work too much," Spalletti said. "When I no longer love it then I will leave. If the club ask me to then it's a different issue."

Spalletti, who guided Roma to a second-place finish in Italy's top flight last term, admitted after Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Udinese that his job was on the line.

Roma are just one point clear of the relegation zone and take on Sampdoria on Wednesday looking to avoid their fourth consecutive defeat.
