No. 22 California earned a 2-0 victory over Arizona at Edwards Stadium. The Golden Bears improve to 10-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the Pac-10 while the Wildcats fall to 8-8-0 and 1-4-0 in conference play. After a scoreless first half, Cal got goals after the break from forwards freshman Katie Benz and sophomore Alex Morgan.
"Over the course of 90 minutes, I think we performed very well. After a well fought overtime game, like we had against ASU on Friday, it's likely that you're going to take a little time to warm up," Cal head coach Neil McGuire said. "I thought we were very well organized, as was Arizona, in the first half. In the second half, I think we came more alive offensively, and as a result, we got opportunities."
