Beckham to start 2009 MLS season with Galaxy

LOS ANGELES -- David Beckham says he will be back with the Los Angeles Galaxy for the start of the 2009 Major League Soccer season.

He added on his Web site Friday he's in negotiations for a temporary loan to AC Milan.

"Although nothing is confirmed at present, we can confirm that talks are taking place with Milan with regard to a short-term loan move at the start of next year," he said in a a brief statement on davidbeckham.com.

Milan described talks on Thursday at an "advanced stage."

The 33-year-old Beckham wants to play in Europe in the MLS offseason so he can stay in shape and be available to play for England during World Cup qualifiers.
