Milan deny swap deal for Roma's Mexes

AC Milan have denied reports they are in talks with AS Roma with a view to signing France defender Philippe Mexes.

Rumours in the Italian media have linked Mexes with a move to the San Siro in the January transfer window in a deal which would see AC Milan players Marek Jankulovski and Daniele Bonera go the other way.

But Milan rubbished the suggestion on Tuesday, releasing a statement, which read: "The reports in several local newspapers regarding the possible arrival of Mexes to the Rossoneri club in exchange for Jankulovski and Bonera have no truth whatsoever."

The 26-year-old Mexes, who joined Roma in the summer of 2004, is under contract with the Giallorossi until June 2011.
