Blackburn's injury-plagued midfielder Steven Reid will miss the rest of the season after suffering another knee problem.
Rovers boss Paul Ince revealed today the Republic of Ireland international will need surgery on his knee and is expected to be out for six or seven months.
Reid, 27, has missed Blackburn's last four games and was forced to sit out his country's victorious World Cup qualifier against Cyprus on Wednesday.
He missed the 2006/07 season with a stress fracture of the back and then a cruciate knee ligament injury and and with David Dunn also out for the long term, Ince's central midfield options are limited for tomorrow's trip to Bolton in the Premier League.
Reid has scored six goals in 90 league appearances since joining Blackburn from Millwall for £2.5m in 2003.
