Peru coach Jose Guillermo Del Solar has admitted his dream of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup is all but over after Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Paraguary.
The Peruvians have won only one of their 10 matches in the South American Qualifying Zone to prop up the standings on seven points.
"We have been through a number of situations," said Guillermo. "I feel I am good enough to coach football teams but if I say we have a chance of going to the World Cup I would be dreaming and lying."
Guillermo will meet Peruvian Football Federation president Manuel Burga in November and hinted it could be the end of his reign.
"Something has grown stale," he said. "I will talk to Manuel next month and see what is the best thing for me and the team. I obviously won't wait until next year to sort it out.
"My contract runs to until December 2009 but there is a clause to let any of the parties terminate it without paying compensation."
