Germany's Ballack may miss Wales qualifier
BERLIN, Oct 14 (Reuters) - Germany captain Michael Ballack has a sore calf and could miss Wednesday's World Cup Group Four qualifier against Wales in Moenchengladbach, the German soccer federation (DFB) said on Tuesday.
Ballack sustained the injury during Germany's 2-1 win over Russia in Dortmund on Saturday and was unable to train on Monday, the DFB said on its website.
"Michael is undergoing treatment and we'll have to wait and see how he responds," team manager Oliver Bierhoff said at a televised news conference in Duesseldorf.
Germany lead Group Four with seven points from three matches ahead of Wales who have six points. Russia are fourth behind Finland, both having played twice.
