Pele gets France call for friendly with Tunisia

Yohann Pele has been drafted into France's squad ahead of Tuesday's friendly against Tunisia in Paris.

The Le Mans goalkeeper has been called up because Hugo Lloris, the back-up to regular Les Bleus number one Steve Mandanda, has been summoned by France Under-21s for the second leg of their European Championship play-off against Germany on Wednesday.

It is Pele's first appearance in the senior squad, having played twice for the Under-21s.

Lloris, who has impressed in his first season at French champions Lyon, will start for Erick Mombaerts' side against the Germans in Metz, with the tie standing at 1-1 after the first leg.

"Steve Mandanda will start against Tunisia and we have a very important match the following day," said Mombaerts.

"Hugo Lloris is still an Under-21 international even if he is not part of our group any more. He comes for a massive mission and we welcome him with open arms."

Pele's call-up is one of four changes to be made to Raymond Domenech's squad since the 2-2 draw against Romania on Saturday.

Captain Patrick Vieira is out after injuring his calf in Constanta while Arsenal defenders William Gallas (thigh) and Bacary Sagna (knee) pulled out on Sunday with their respective injuries.
