Revolution's Ralston out with broken fibula
KANSAS CITY -- Steve Ralston suffered a broken fibula in New England's 1-0 loss to Kansas City, depriving the playoff-bound Revolution of their captain.
Ralston, a midfielder who holds the MLS record for games played, was hurt in the 12th minute of Saturday night's game at Kansas City when he was hit from behind by Wizards midfielder Herculez Gomez.
"He's a tough guy, so when someone like that goes down, it's really a shock to the system," said Revolution defender Jay Heaps. "Now we know he's going to be out at least a couple of weeks so we need to sort out what we're going to do from here on.
"A lot of what we do goes through him so we're going to have to adapt to that."
The Revolution have clinched a playoff spot but are 1-3-3 in their last seven games.
