PARIS, October 9 (Ligue 1)- Paris St Germain have denied reports former France captain Didier Deschamps is set to replace Paul Le Guen as the club's coach.
French sports daily L'Equipe claimed Deschamps, who has also been linked to a role with the national team, is being lined up to take over from Le Guen after a disappointing start to the season that sees the capital club sit 11th in Ligue 1.
However, a statement on PSG's official website read: "Paris St Germain denies making contact with any French coach, as was asserted by a French daily sports paper.
"The club maintains its confidence in Paul Le Guen and his staff.
"Paris St Germain remains convinced it currently possesses the players and coaching staff necessary to achieve the best possible results."
