GLASGOW Sept 27 (Reuters) - Champions Celtic snatched a late 3-2 win against Aberdeen in their Scottish Premier League match on Saturday thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink.
Dutch striker Vennegoor of Hesselink opened the scoring in the 15th minute when he fired a low left-footed shot past keeper Jamie Langfield into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
Aberdeen hit back with two second-half goals from ex-Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew before Celtic's Australian striker Scott McDonald headed an equaliser in the 78th minute from close range.
Vennegoor of Hesselink scored the winner a minute into stoppage time when he slipped a low shot into the net from six metres out.
Celtic top the SPL standings with 16 points from seven games. Rangers, who visit Hibernian on Sunday, are on the same points from six games.
In other SPL action, Motherwell beat St Mirren 2-1, Inverness Caledonian Thistle won 3-1 at home to Kilmarnock, Falkirk inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Hamilton Academical and Dundee United thrashed Hearts 3-0.
