Sophomores Hector Jimenez and Servando Carrasco both scored for No. 3 Cal as the Golden Bears defeated Drake, 2-0, in the first match of the Stanford Nike Classic.
California remained undefeated at 4-0-2 on the season and handed Drake its first loss of the season, as the Bulldogs fell to 6-1.
Jimenez notched the game's first goal in the 26th minute following a give-and-go from Davis Paul. Carrasco scored the second in the 77th minute with an assist from sophomore Andrew Wiedeman, in the 77th minute when he blasted a shot that went through the keeper's hands.
The Bears outshot Drake, 19-11, with Wiedeman leading the team with seven shots.
