BERLIN, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Franck Ribery's planned return for Bayern Munich this weekend has been delayed by a further an injury setback.
The German champions confirmed on Friday that the French international would not be in the squad for Saturday's match against last season's runners-up Werder Bremen because of a slight thigh problem.
"It's a normal tightening up of the muscle, because he has been training so hard this week," Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann told reporters. Klinsmann said he expected Ribery to play in next Wednesday's German Cup match against FC Nuremberg.
The 25-year-old midfielder has been out of action for more than three months after rupturing an ankle ligament during France's Euro 2008 group stage loss to Italy.
