Napoli lose bid to overturn San Paolo Stadium ban

Napoli have lost their bid to overturn a decision to shut down two large sections of their San Paolo Stadium until October 20.

The Partenopei outfit appealed to Italy´s highest sporting body, the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI), who ruled on Thursday that the punishment imposed by the FIGC will be held.

Napoli were already given a reduction after contesting the FIGC´s initial ruling to shut down the entire Curva A and B of the stadium through October 31.

The Naples-based club were punished for the bad behaviour of a section of their fans on the opening weekend of the season.

The Curva A and B are sections in the stadium where Napoli's 'ultra' supporters sit during home games.
