Premier Showdown - Sept 13-15

So it's a much improved start to the season for the Rest of the World with back-to-back victories putting them on top of the table for the first time since they won the title on the final day in May 2007.

It means there's lofty expectations for our next challenger while Tommy Smyth still waits to get off the mark for this season.

Who do we welcome this weekend? It's John Leahy.

John tells us: 'I am a 55-year-old environmental consultant and have played pick up soccer all over US, Canada, South America, and Europe. I still play soccer all year round three times per week and try to watch several games every week from the top four leagues of England, Spain, Italy and Germany.

'My favorite teams are Barcelona, Roma and Boca Juniors. I love the Arsenal creative attacking style and would love to see Liverpool win a championship. I also thought Newcastle could be an exciting team this year, but the management problems may destroy yet another season for them.'

Let's get it on!

Each week one of our readers has the chance to challenge our two experts.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
