Milan quash Thiago Silva rumours

MILAN, September 17 (Serie A) - AC Milan have denied they are interested in signing Fluminense defender Thiago Silva.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Serie A in January but the Rossoneri have quashed Italian media reports which suggest they are battling with city rivals Internazionale to sign the Brazil international.

"Regarding reports in certain newspapers in which they state Milan's rivalry with other clubs to acquire the services of Brazilian Thiago Silva, Milan clarifies that such rivalry will not take place," read a statement on club website.

"Milan has already filled its two non-European players' spots for this season and we are not among the clubs which can sign Thiago Silva."

Thiago Silva was a member of Brazil's bronze medal-winning side at the Olympic Games in Beijing last month.
