Michigan 1-4 UIC: Flames remain unbeaten

The 14th-ranked UIC men's soccer team scored early in defeating No. 19 Michigan, 4-1, in the first game of the Michigan Invitational at Eastern Michigan's Scicluna Field on Friday night.

Alen Husidic's goal nine minutes into the contest gave the Flames (4-0-1) an early lead, and three unanswered goals in the second period gave UIC an insurmountable advantage that extended its winning streak to four games.

"Tremendous showing against a very good Michigan team," said UIC head coach John Trask. "It was nice to see the young guys get in and play very well. Great performances across the board."

UIC received further goals from Baggio Husidic, Ian Sarachan and Charlie Trout. Michigan scored its lone goal in the 89th minute on a penalty kick by Steve Bonnell.
