Premier Showdown - Aug 30-31

The Rest of the World stormed to victory last weekend thanks to Bill Riley, which means only Tommy Smyth is left with an empty pot so far this season. Can he make amends ahead of the international break?

Remember, Manchester United v Fulham is off this weekend due to the European Super Cup, so there's just the nine matches to predict.

This weekend we open our doors to Carl De Bique who hails from the town of Chaguanas which is in Trinidad & Tobago.

Carl says: 'I am a 48-year-old Accountant. My favourite team is Arsenal and I hate Manchester United! My favourite players are Kaka of Brazil, Lucio of Brazil and my top team is Argentina.'

Soccernet is a little confused about the Argentina-Brazil clash, but we'll let it go...

Let's play.

Each week one of our readers has the chance to challenge our two experts.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and ESPNsoccernet Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.
