Former England captain Bryan Robson insists nerves are no excuse for failing to perform at international level.
England head into their crucial World Cup qualifying clash in Croatia with expectations at their lowest point in years.
Robson, who was known for the determination with which he led both club and country, insists it is time for England's big-name players to stop moaning and perform.
"You hear reports that players are a little bit nervous and they are not really enjoying playing for England and for me, they are just excuses," he told talkSPORT.
"The players have got to look at themselves and say 'this is qualifying for the World Cup and I am going to play for my country, I am going to enjoy this'. They have to get it within themselves and not make excuses.
"The lads had the big disappointment not qualifying for the European Championship. I don't think they will let themselves down this time."
