BYU 4-1 Georgia: Larkin nets a brace

Georgia's trip to the state of Utah got off to a poor start Friday, as the No. 19 Bulldogs dropped a 4-1 contest to No. 18 BYU.

BYU scored early through Katie Larkin in the eighth minute, before Georgia's Carrie Patterson equalized. However, BYU's Kassidy Christensen scored before halftime to extend the lead. BYU pulled away with two more goals in the second half by Larkin and Katie Hoidgkiss.

"Full credit to BYU players and coaches tonight; they played at a fantastic pace," said Georgia coach Pat Baker. "They wanted the game more than we did and beat us in every facet of soccer. We didn't play to our capabilities, and on the road against a nationally ranked team like BYU, you have to perform at a high level. We will dissect tape and learn from our mistakes so that we can become better soccer players."
