Ivory Coast call up Gosso, Drogba left out
ABIDJAN, Aug 29 (Reuters) - Monaco midfielder Jean Jacques Gosso has been called into the Ivory Coast squad for the first time for the World Cup qualifier in Mozambique next month.
Gosso is the only new face named by coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the Ivorian Football Federation said.
Captain Didier Drogba and his long-time attack partner Aruna Dindane have both been left out because of injury, allowing a rare chance for Olympique Marseille's new signing Bakary Kone to feature in the starting line-up.
The Ivorians play Mozambique in Maputo on Sept. 7, when an away win would almost certainly ensure their progress to the next phase of the African zone qualifiers.
