Fiorentina star Adrian Mutu will definitely miss the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Slavia Prague, the Italian club confirmed on Monday.
The Romania striker dislocated an elbow in training while on international duty on August 19 and could also sit out Sunday's Serie A opener against former club Juventus.
'Adrian Mutu underwent medical checks by professor Bufalini today who confirmed progress in the mobility of the joints of the injured elbow,' read a statement on the official website, it.violachannel.tv.
'The joint is still unstable and that can only be partially compensated by a made-to-measure semi-rigid sling.
'The possible availability of Adrian Mutu for Sunday's match will be better known in the next few days.'
Fiorentina travel face Slavia Prague on Wednesday protecting a 2-0 advantage from the first leg - a game in which Mutu scored the opener.
