City boss admits Corluka is a target for Spurs

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed that defender Vedran Corluka is a potential transfer target for Juande Ramos's Spurs side.

Corluka missed the Blues' pre-season friendly against AC Milan on Saturday night and is seen by the Spanish boss as the perfect reinforcement for his defence after the departures of Pascal Chimbonda and Younes Kaboul.

Spurs have already been busy in the summer transfer window, but are reportedly willing to pay a fee in the region of £8.5million to bring the Croatian defender to White Hart Lane and Hughes admits that one of his star defenders could be sold.

'The situation is that Spurs are interested but the deal has not been done,' he said.

'If the deal does not feel right then it will not be done.

'He's not with us at the moment, but I don't want to go into details. If something happens in that respect, you'll be the first to know.

'I don't like talking about any prospective business that is being done, whether or not it is likely or not, until it is actually done.

'Once deals are concluded, if they are to be finalised, then I'll discuss them.'
