Paris St Germain have agreed to end their pursuit of Rennes striker Jimmy Briand.
PSG have had a number of bids for the one-time France cap turned down by the Brittany team, who have become agitated at the capital club's relentless hounding of their player this summer.
And after seeing another bid for Briand rejected on Friday, PSG will now turn their attention to the acquisition of another striker.
A statement, released on their official website on Saturday, read: 'After a recent meeting, the directors of Paris St Germain and Rennes have decided, by common consent, to bring an end to discussions and negotiations concerning Jimmy Briand.'
PSG could now make a move for Mateja Kezman, the Serbia international who plays for Turkish club Fenerbahce.
