Klinsmann lays out blueprint for Bayern

Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann has written to the team's supporters to lay out his blueprint for a successful cooperation next season. He explains how the club are preparing for a 'new era' in which they want to 'build on a great tradition' and how the fans are requested to play their part in making Bayern a force to be reckoned with once again. 'FC Bayern is unique on this planet. Many clubs have been and gone on the international scene in recent years but FC Bayern has always been successful and will remain successful,' he wrote to the supporters' clubs. 'We are now standing at the beginning of a new era and have got to link the tremendous tradition of this club with modern requirements. 'If we want to remain among Europe's elite, then we have to make changes and we are working on that in our new training centre. 'There is nothing like it in Madrid, in Milan, in London or in Manchester and I cannot promise that these changes will win us the Champions League straight away, but I am sure that we have to change something if we are to win the Champions League again.' Klinsmann has been in charge of Bayern for just a month and has already overhauled everything, apart from the playing staff. The club's training facilities were given a makeover into a state-of-the-art structure where the players will now spend their whole days from morning to evening, eating together and relaxing between training sessions. The only thing Klinsmann hopes will remain the same is the relationship with the fans. 'It is one of the most important principles of my coaching work that we have to ensure that the fans are always proud of the club we all belong to,' he continued. 'That is why we want to create a new level of excitement. We want to play in a quick and aggressive way, control and dominate the game and score goals. 'We are all FC Bayern: The fans, the employees, the players and the coaches. We all belong to this club family and I am looking forward to my job with FC Bayern and the fans of this club.' Bayern are currently on tour in Japan and will return to play their first game at the Allianz Arena under Klinsmann against Italian champions Internazionale next Tuesday. They then travel to Erfurt for the first round of the DFB-Pokal next weekend before kicking off the Bundesliga season at home to Hamburg on August 15.
