Hammers target Cavani rules out Palermo exit

Uruguay striker Edison Cavani looks set to stay at Palermo despite reports linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Cavani is said to have attracted the interest of Tottenham and West Ham United over the summer, but the player's agent insists the 21-year-old will remain with the Sicilian outfit next season.

'Cavani is a Palermo player,' said Pierpaolo Triulzi. 'There are no negotiations in place.

'He has four years left on his contract and he is happy to stay at Palermo.'

Nicknamed 'El Matador', Cavani joined the Rossaneri outfit in January 2007 from home club Danuvio and has earned a starting role at the club.
