Makelele skippers PSG to victory over La Gantoise
Claude Makelele wore the captain's armband for new side Paris St Germain in their 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Belgian side La Gantoise.
The former France midfielder, who recently completed his free transfer to PSG from Chelsea, played 45 minutes of the clash at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, as did fellow high-profile new signing Ludovic Giuly.
Substitutes Peguy Luyindula and Fabrice Pancrate scored PSG's goals in the second half as the capital club secured their fifth win in six pre-season matches.
In other friendly matches on Saturday, Bakari Kone scored twice for Marseille in their 2-1 victory against Ajaccio.
Kone, who joined OM from Nice in the summer, netted either side of half-time, Ajaccio equalising with 15 minutes left.
Djibril Cisse, who has been linked with a move to the English Premier League, was not in OM's squad for the match.
Elsewhere, St Etienne drew 3-3 with fellow Ligue 1 side Nice, Valenciennes thrashed Boulogne-sur-Mer 4-1 and Le Mans defeated top-flight newcomers Le Havre 2-0 thanks to goals by Paulo Andre and Thomas Dossevi.
