Free agent Reuser links up with NAC Breda

Veteran midfielder Martijn Reuser will play for NAC Breda next season.

The 33-year-old, a free agent after being released by RKC Waalwijk, on Thursday passed a medical and signed a one-year contract with the option for a second season in Breda.

'I am extremely content,' Reuser told ELF Voetbal. 'NAC is a great club. It's fantastic that I can play here in the upcoming season.'

Reuser is looking forward to the prospect of linking up again with coach Robert Maaskant.

'He knew me of course from my period at Willem II,' said Reuser. 'Then we had a great cooperation. It's for me an advantage that Maaskant knows what I can and what I can't do.

'He told me that he signed me for an attacking position. I don't know which, but it doesn't bother me. I can play in several positions, so I will see where the team needs me.'

Reuser expressed his thanks to Willem II, who allowed him to train and keep in shape while he was without a club.

'I am very grateful for that towards the club,' he added. 'I feel fit and sharp and I am really looking forward to this new challenge.

'Last season I had a good season in the Jupiler League. Let's see if I can still do it at the highest level.'
