Blind: Prospects good for Oleguer transfer

Ajax technical director Danny Blind is confident of completing the signing of defender Oleguer Presas from Barcelona.

The 28-year-old is set to move to the Amsterdam ArenA for 3million euros plus an extra 2.25million should they qualify for the Champions League during the next three seasons.

Blind told De Telegraaf: 'We have a deal with Barcelona, that's step one. That doesn't mean that we will reach a swift deal with the player, but the prospects are good.

'Oleguer has received an indication of what he can earn here. More than anything else he wants to play football and he wants to do that at Ajax.

'We start talks with him on Wednesday and hopefully he can join the squad soon.'

Blind revealed Oleguer was likely to be offered a long-term contract.

He added: 'Loaning him out was not an option for Barcelona. And when you buy someone for a reasonable amount of money, you don't sign him for one or two years.'
