Wolfsburg riled by Jentzscg's bullying claims

Wolfsburg have reacted with disbelief at the claims made by goalkeeper Simon Jentzsch's agent that his client has been bullied by the Bundesliga club.

Jentzsch lost his place in the first team last season and was given permission to talk to other clubs about a transfer this summer.

However, Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath vetoed a transfer to Rapid Vienna at the last minute.

Turkish sides Trabzonspor and Antalyaspor also pulled out of deals when it appeared a transfer was nearing completion, but Magath claims Jentzsch's agent Martin Wiesner is to blame.

'An agent who starts to build up tension by going public with things from the very beginning damages the climate in which productive talks can take place,' he said. 'Obviously Simon Jentzsch's agent is lacking the right judgment and methods.'

Magath added that 'nobody is bullied at Wolfsburg', reiterating the fact that no player has a guaranteed place in his first team 'if they cannot fulfil the performance requirements'.

He intends to speak to the 32-year-old directly and in private since 'it is not club practice to carry internal matters into public'.

Jentzsch recently requested to train with the reserves and is still hoping to find a new club before the start of the season.
