Ben Arfa speaks of 'relief' at Marseille move

Marseille new boy Hatem Ben Arfa has expressed his 'relief' at finally completing his move from Lyon.

The two clubs on Tuesday finally reached an agreement over the on-off transfer of the 21-year-old left-winger for an undisclosed fee following a meeting in Paris with the French football league.

And Ben Arfa, who also revealed that Primera Liga champions Real Madrid were interested in him, is looking forward to starting his new life in the south of France.

'I had a deep desire to come here,' he said at his official unveiling. 'I really don't have any regrets.

'On the contrary, it's a real relief. Life is made up of risks, you have to know when to take them and to go to the end of your principles.

'For me, it was the end at Lyon. It was the end of a cycle, I needed a change of air.

'The Lyon directors sent people from Real Madrid while I was signing at Marseille to push me to sign for them, because that suited them better financially and in a lot of ways.

'But my heart told me to come here.'
