West Brom sign Zuiverloon from Heerenveen

Heerenveen have announced the sale of defender Gianni Zuiverloon to Premier League new boys West Brom.

Heerenveen announced on their official website that Zuiverloon has signed a three-year contract.

Zuiverloon, 21, is a Holland Under-21 international who scored the winning penalty in a semi-final shoot-out against England at last year's UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

'On the one hand I find it a pity that I must leave a club like Heerenveen, but this is a nice next step in my career,' Zuiverloon told De Telegraaf newspaper.

'I have been there already and looked around and the club have made a big impression on me. Tomorrow I will be presented to my team-mates and I will be on the training pitch as soon as possible.'

West Brom have already signed striker Roman Bednar and midfielder Kim Do-Heon this summer.
