ST GALLEN, Switzerland, June 12 (Reuters) - Romania striker Ciprian Marica has been ruled out of their Euro 2008 match against world champions Italy on Friday after failing to recover in time from a head injury, a team spokesman said.
'He is still recovering and will not be able to play tomorrow,' the spokesman said on Thursday.
Marica was taken to hospital on Tuesday with a head injury following a collision with Marius Niculae during training. He was later released and told to rest for at least two days.
Marica, who did not play in Romania's opening 0-0 draw with France, will be reassessed before their final Group C game against Netherlands on June 17.
