NICE, France, May 29 (Reuters) - Nice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said on Thursday he was joining seven-times French champions Olympique Lyon to replace France number one Gregory Coupet.
The 21-year-old Lloris told a news conference he had decided to join Lyon after receiving offers from several other clubs.
'I didn't hesitate for a second,' he said. 'There's no better place for me to keep improving.'
LLoris said details would be settled in the next few days. According to media reports, he could be offered a five-year deal for a transfer fee of around 10 million euros.
Coupet, 35, said he was leaving Lyon after over a decade at the club. He had been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League.
'To succeed Coupet, who has played such a big role at Lyon, is a challenge and an honour,' Lloris said.
