Feilhaber to miss England friendly with knee injury
LONDON -- U.S. midfielder Benny Feilhaber has a torn meniscus in his right knee that needs an operation and will miss Wednesday's exhibition game against England.
Feilhaber, who plays for Derby, was injured in the 67th minute of the U.S. under-23 team's 3-2 loss to Turkey on Wednesday at Toulon, France.
Feilhaber traveled to Los Angeles on Saturday and will be treated by team physician Bert Mandelbaum. The U.S. Soccer Federation said Feilhaber is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks.
Maurice Edu of Toronto FC was called in to replace Feilhaber on the roster.
