Is a title challenge possible for Man Utd?

Manchester United

Premier Showdown - Apr 17-20

Tommy Smyth continues to silence his critics with a run of form which could have threatened Dale Johnson's march to the title if it had begun a month earlier. As it is he is simply rubbing salt into the Rest of the World's wounds.

Can Tommy keep going over the remaining four rounds?

Out to stop him this weekend is Alex Mancham who comes from Australia.

He tells us: 'I am 22 years old and my name is Alex. I am a United supporter of the Manchester variety from Brisbane Australia. Watch your shows weekly, think Shaka is a fantastic addition to the team.

'One person each week makes the odds near impossible though. More chance of Mongolia winning the world cup! Anyway i will take a shot at the ol onion bag!'

The ROTW won for the last three years, Alex, so that is no excuse.

Let's play!

Each week one of our readers, or an ESPNSoccernet Press Pass viewer, has the chance to challenge our two experts.

Soccernet's Premier League Editor, Dale Johnson, and Press Pass pundit Tommy Smyth take up the test.

They, along with the challenger, cast their eyes over weekend's top flight fixtures in England and predict how they think each game will turn out.

Points are then awarded as follows:
• Three points for a correct result and scoreline
• One point for a correct result

After the weekend's scores are in and the result has been worked out, the winning pundit receives three points for their season's total. Should the challenger win, the total is added to the 'Rest of the World's' tally. In the case of a draw, the points are shared between those level on points.

Yet another victory for Tommy as he continues to collect the points. And this win confirms his position as second best and condemns the ROTW to bottom place. Game over! But we'll play on - just for fun!

Table after Round 35:
Dale: 52
Tommy: 32.5
Rest of the World: 20.5

You can tune in to ESPNSoccernet Press Pass every Monday and Thursday.
